Brain Fog in Perimenopause is Real — So I Built Something to Help

I couldn't find simple help for midlife brain fog. Everything online felt clinical, overwhelming, or scary. So I decided to create the kind of support I wish existed for women navigating perimenopause, hormonal changes, and mental fog in midlife.

Okay, real talk.

Have you ever been mid-sentence, totally normal conversation, and the word just... vanishes? Like it was there just a second ago and now there's just this blank, echoing void where it used to live?

Or you walk into the kitchen, stand there for a full ten seconds staring at the counter like it owes you money, and have absolutely zero idea why you came in?

Or, and this one really gets me, you sit down to do one thing, somehow end up doing four other things, and then realize you never finished the first thing you started. Yeah. That part.

That's brain fog. And if you're in your 40s or 50s, I need you to hear this clearly: you are not losing your mind. You’re in midlife. And there is a very important difference.

How It Snuck Up On Me

For me, it started a few years ago. I'd always been pretty sharp. Always on top of things, good with words, good with details. The kind of person who remembered everything. And then, slowly and quietly, something shifted.

I'd forget names. Lose my train of thought in the middle of a meeting. Feel this weird mental heaviness that no amount of coffee (and believe me, I tried) could touch. And the scariest part? I had no idea why.

So, I did what any rational person does at 2am: I Googled it. And what I found was a wall of medical articles and symptom checklists that made me feel ten times worse. Everything was clinical and scary and overwhelming, and none of it felt like it was talking to me.

What I really needed was someone to just sit down next to me and say, hey. This is normal. This is hormonal. This is midlife. Here's what to do right now.

When I couldn't find that? I decided to build it.

Meet Brain Fog Reset

I created Brain Fog Reset, a free app (no sign-up, no subscription, nothing to download, because the last thing a foggy brain needs is more steps) that does one thing really well: it gives you a fast, gentle reset when your brain needs it most.

Here's how it works.

The first time you open it, you'll hear a short welcome message from me. There's a headphone icon if you ever want to replay it, because honestly, I'm delightful. There's also a sun/moon icon to switch between light and dark mode, because some of us are sensitive now. Our vision is changing. Bifocals are a thing. Don't even get me started on night driving. (Drop a comment — are you team light or team dark? This is important data.)

Then you get one simple question: What does your brain need right now?

You pick what fits, can't focus, mentally exhausted, anxious, or just... slow. No wrong answers. We've all been all four in a single afternoon.

From there, the app gives you three things:

  • A 60-second grounding exercise, simple, guided, doable literally anywhere, including a parking lot (no judgment)

  • A reminder that what you're feeling makes complete sense and why

  • One small action, nothing that requires motivation you definitely don't have right now, I promise

And as a little bonus, you'll get what I call a vibe card - a gentle affirmation you can save to your device or share with someone who also needs a reset. The whole thing takes less than five minutes.

I built it to feel like a friend, not a doctor. Warm, honest, zero pressure. Because that's what was missing, and that's what we all deserve.

You Deserve Tools That Actually Get It

The link to try Brain Fog Reset is right here — it's completely free. And if any of this resonated with you, stick around because this is exactly the kind of stuff I talk about all the time. Real conversations about midlife, hormones, brain fog, and feeling like yourself again.

Share this with someone who needs it. Because more women should know: this is normal, this is manageable, and help doesn't have to be complicated. Join my email list for more conversations.

You've got this. I'm so glad you're here.🦋
